Specialist
A question arises. I have a couple of friends who periodically conduct seminars in Bangkok, using hotel conference facilities. What are the applicable visa or work permit requirements for this? What are the tax implications?
Flashermac
<< If a company in Thailand arranges the seminar/training and hires your company to conduct it, they will withhold taxes from the payment they make to you. So for sure you will have paid your tax in Thailand for the earnings. Even so, the Thai company should get a work permit for the persons who will conduct the seminar to comply with the Working of Alien Act. However, if you conduct it yourself without anyone hiring you, you will be breaking the foreign business law. Foreign companies cannot just come into Thailand and do business. >> http://msna.biz/tax-and-work-permit-issues-when-organizing-training-courses-in-thailand Maybe somebody here has actually done it? cavanami
The new PM touched upon this area and it seems he has dictated that such a WP can/will be available upon arrival at the airport...I think this is what he said in one of his briefings
