Bkk Taxi Rates Increase

Just heard, via our company driver, that starting tomorrow, a taxi will charge 2 Baht/minute for idle time/time stuck not moving in traffic...

I can't begrudge taxi drivers that one - Bangkok rates have seemed relatively low to me for years. Good taxis, clean, air con, generally use the meter, and always around - guys deserve a little more than they've been getting. Yes, you have to speak a little Thai to avoid complications, but if you do, they're pretty great.
