A very teary Geoff Gaylord after he turned himself into police after admitting murdering his imarginary friend.

A man turned himself into police and demanded they give him the death penalty after he admitted murdering his imaginary friend Mr Happy.

Seen here in tears Geoff Gaylord, 37, from Florida, told officers he had stabbed Mr Happy to death with a knife, cut up the body with a hatchet and buried the victim in his backyard.

Jacksonville officers took a drunk Gaylord into custody and obtained a search warrant for his house.

Gaylord said one of the reasons he killed Mr Happy was because he was messy.

He also told officers: “His room was a mess all the time with his toys and dolls.

“He left his empty vodka bottles all over the kitchen… never picked up his empty cocaine baggies and left the toilet seat down when he peed. He messed up my apartment to the point where I just couldn’t get it clean.

“Before Hap started doing drugs and acting weird he was my BFF (best friend forever).

“We’d go dancing, play on the children’s park equipment, both huge fans of doom metal – listened to it for hours with the lights turned off,†reports Inquisitr.

Police found drug paraphernalia and a machine gun at Gaylord’s home and he was charged with multiple offences.

Are those the tears of having murdered your imaginary friend, I wonder, or the tears from having called the cops to your own house in your lunacy, to have them discover your illegal machine gun and drug stuff?

And to think - a couple hours of sleep instead of rushing straight to the cops, and it would have all been fine... Once he's in jail, I'll bet he really starts to regret killing Mr. Happy - messy imaginary friends are so much better than real prison friends...
