Flashermac
LAS VEGAS — Thailand’s Tuk-Tuk won the Best National Costume today at Miss Universe 2015 in Las Vegas. Miss Universe Thailand Aniporn “Nat†Chalermburanawong, 21, also made it into the top 10 pageant finalists, but she failed to make it to the final five. The winning tuk-tuk dress was designed and created by Hirankrit Pattaraboriboonkul, 35, who works at the Ministry of Culture. He told Khaosod that he was inspired by Thai pop culture and decided to break from the traditional approach to try something new. Nat become popular in part due to her resemblance to A-list superstar Araya “Chompoo†Hargate. She is from Lampang province and is currently a third-year student at the Faculty of Social Administration, Thammasat University. The crown Miss Universe 2015 went to Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, after the host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced Miss Colombia Paulina Vega as the winner. http://www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1450669835&typecate=06§ion=

Flashermac
Miss Thailand the year after her was just as lovely, but the contest owners wouldn't let the same country win two years in a row. They made her second runner up - to the crowds' displeasure.
Guest
Yes, as well as being pretty, intelligent as well, not living up to the stereotype, by being a qualified doctor ... But hey these contests were long before I was born and the swimsuit looks old fashioned these days ...
