Flashermac
To mark the 68th anniversary of the birth of the PLA Navy, Chinese propaganda officials gave the gift of humiliation. On Sunday, China's Ministry of National Defense posted a flashy poster onto its official Weibo account proudly presenting the country's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, sailing through some very blue water flanked by two other warships and with fighter jets soaring through the sky. The ministry asked followers to wish the Chinese navy a happy birthday. Unfortunately, rather than respond with well wishes, netizens fired back with ridicule. As the South China Morning Post notes, the two vessels alongside the Liaoning are not Chinese, but American amphibious assault ships. Meanwhile, the plane on the deck of the carrier is a Russian MiG-35 fighter. Those in the sky are at least Chinese J-10s, but those aircraft aren't actually based on the Liaoning. "This picture vividly shows that the propaganda department is made up of a group of imbeciles," commented one Weibo user underneath the post. "The poster is on the level of something that would come out of a roadside print shop," wrote another web user. "Editor, quickly delete this photo, or become a disgrace," warned another. Well, guess it's too late for that now anyway. Meanwhile, the Photoshop failure comes just as China prepares to launch its first domestically-built aircraft carrier in Dalian. We can't wait to see photos from that moment! http://shanghaiist.com/2017/04/25/navy-photoshop-fail.php
