Guest
In yesterdays paper and todays BKKpost they say that insufficient evidence and legal loopholes is why the case against Brinton was dismissed. Other 6 cases against other firms probably will also be dismissed. Pol Col Chanachai said only option left is strictly apply labour and immigration regulations. The problem I have with this is, will legit foreigners have a harder time to get work permits? Don't think the guys that work at these places even apply for a permit. It won't affect them. But it probably will affect everybody else. TIT The other thing that bothers me, when they arrested these guys it made worldwide news like they were the biggest crooks. Now it turns out according to the paper they were legit and have been vindicated. So does crime pay or were they really legit busnessmen who had bad luck with the police? gummigut
A big problem here is Thai Law. There really isn't much on the books that they can throw at these guys. Sorta like the same problem with top white collar crime in the States. The charge of selling securities without a license is pending but this all happened cross national boundaries so who knows if that will hold up. <<burp>>
Guest
If their names/pictures show up in the news, bet at the least they will be looking over their sholders for some time to comd. too bad some of the big shots ( enron fiasco comes to mind) don't get some personal info made public, bet they would be falling all over each other trying to make things "right" b4 someone took them to task
Hidy Ho
I know at least one "boiler room boys" still hitting the bars and go-gos so the operations are still going on. I met him over a year ago at SC.

gummigut
As I've stated before, it's fine to warn and talk about these scammers, but please don't make claims if they are operating or where they are operating in Thailand. Thank you, <<burp>>
