pattaya127
So, what do the locals mean by wat Khaek? you mention "no wonder the locals...."
Pescator
By referring to his temple as Wat Khaek, they do not acknowledge that he is Thai or Lao for that matter. He is a foreigner with a foreign religion. Khaek is also used to refer to hindus, muslims etc. Hua Nguu.
pattaya127
Now, i understand why someone here thought he was a farang. Wonder what the locals think of the new "owner", his son who lived in LA prior to tending the temple. Last time i went, 1999, the place was packed, hundreds of thai visitors like never before. And there's an entrance fee for all: 20 bahts.
Pescator
Right. I was there last time in 2001. And it was packed as you said. Also busloads of japanese/korean tourists. Mayby it will be know in the future as the local "Fantasea" as known from Kamala in Phuket:) Regards Hua Nguu.
