Thinking if I buy a one-way ticket from Tokyo to Bkk, I could save some serious dosh by buying the Sydney return leg in BKK and then a one year open return ticket Bkk-Tokyo. One recommendation: find somebody in Thailand who makes the booking for you. December -even before x-mas - is high season, probably also on the BKKSYD leg.
