Guest
Hi all, I have successfully applied for and obtain an SCB Savings Account in Hatyai. Now the situation is that if I withdrew cash from any SCB machine outside Hatyai - I'd have to pay a surcharge of 20B or more. How could I transfer it to a Bangkok branch? Or Phuket branch? Secondly - anyone used the SCB online SCBEasy system? I wanted to transfer money to another person from there but it didn't allow. ThaiHome
Based on recent experience I think the best way is to take your money out of the Hatyai account in cash and deposit in a new Bangkok account. TH
lopburi3
Believe all the banks charge such a fee when you use your atm card outside the local area. If you bank in Bangkok you will be charged in Hat Yai and Phuket. If this is really a problem you could set up more accounts and carry more cards. But is the extra expense of these cards worth the trouble? Have not used online service but am quite sure you would have to authorize transfer in writing prior to doing any on-line transfers. There is a branch of SCB on almost every Soi so you should be able to ask in person if they don't respond to email. Good luck.
