Sarisin
I like discovering new restaurants, especially Thai restaurants. Usually when I hear about one, I like to stop by and check it out. Recently, I visited Siam Elephant with one of my straight Thai girls - with her very attractive cousin in tow. Siam Elephant is located on Soi 1 (actually the corner of Soi 1 and Soi Nantar). South Sathorn Road - not very far from the Rama IV/Sathorn Road intersection. The restaurant is rather small (12 tables inside the air-conditioned restaurant) and 4 outside next to a very nice garden and fountain. The entire menu consists of popular Thai dishes with a slant towards healthy fare. It reminded me a bit of the Whole Earth Restaurant on Soi Lang Suan. They do have a vegetarian menu. Their desserts, for example, were very interesting. We tried three different ice cream flavors - lemongrass, mulberry leaves, and coconut. All were good. The prices were not cheap, but you would not break the bank eating here. For example, soft-shell crab dishes (popular and very good here) were around 120 baht each. My two female companions really loved the place and asked me when I would be taking them back again. I enjoyed the food too. They are having a 20% off lunch promotion now, but I'm not sure how long that might last. Here are the particulars: Siam Elephant Thai Restaurant 50 Soi Nantar, Sathorn 1, South Sathorn Rd. Sarisin
aldente thanks for your comment, but not about the being rich part. Actually, this is easy for me because I probably hit a dozen or so different restaurants each month, and I like to try out the new ones as they open. BTW, any money won by me goes to the Khun Sanuk Server Fund. When I have the time, the enjoyment I get out of writing is enough for me. Oops, I hope KS doesn't read this or my paysite 'salary' will disappear.
Sarisin
DID I WIN? DID I WIN? C'mon, Mr. Al 'firm, but not tough' Dente. Who won the big prize for August? If I did indeed win, please forward the princely sum of 2,000 B to the Khun Sanuk Server Fund as I mentioned previously. And, please, don't be buying me any more of that sickly, sweet cherry juice at Angelwitch. Ptah!
