Guest
The Blue Elephant Cooking School and Restaurant. Royal Thai Cuisine. We ate there last night. Very good. This is, I think, actually the 11th one in the world, the original being in Belgium (been there, Belgian Boy?). It's on South Sathon Road, right by Surasak Skytrain Station, in the old Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce building. A venerable old building beatifully restored, inside and out. (The building served as Japanese headquarters during World War II.) The restaurant is on the ground floor, bar on the second, cooking school on the third. Rather pricey, but excellent for a special occasion (or to impress that certain BG). They have a number of Thai dishes that I have not seen elsewhere. There's even crocodile on the menu! And durian cheesecake is available for dessert. (Note to aldente: If I win the 2000 baht again, please give it to Khun Sanuk for the server fund.)
