Long Gun
Man Utd's game could be interesting tonight as it seems they have been preparing to play a completely different team to the one who will actually turn out. Ferguson was interviewd by the Israeli media and was babbling on about what a tough team Tel Aviv were and what good results they had in Europe last season - unfortunately United are playing Maccabi Haifa! racha
Long gone, Was reading the bbc online and they were taking the piss out of Fergy big time mate, It could get worse for Ferguson. United also have to play Olympiakos and Bayer Leverkusen in Group F of the Champions League. The Germans shouldn't prove too hard to recognise. Fergie last saw them only a few months ago, when they knocked United out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage. The only other Bayer knocking around in world football is a team that plays in Thailand's very amateur Santa Fe Farang league - more specifically, on a floodlit pitch at Bangkok Equestrian Centre. To be fair, they topped the table last year, but the league has only been going for two years. And the chances of mixing up the white curls of Klaus Toppmoller with his counterpart Chakrit Prompsith are slim, to say the least. As for Olympiakos, Ferguson might be interested to know that they came into being in May 1925 from the merging of two clubs, the Athletic and Football club of Piraeus (Athlitikos ke Podospherikos Syllogos Pireos) and the Piraeus Supporters' Club (Omilos Philathlon Pireos). Very different, then, from Panathinaikos, who of course grew from the Athens Football Club founded by George Calafatis in the autumn of 1908. Got that, Fergie?
