I got back yesterday, and am pleased to say that I feel fine. No problems with diarrhea or anything else, thankfully, and I abandoned all my concerns re brushing my teeth etc a few days into my trip. I ate 'street' food on a couple of occasions, and it tasted better than much of the food I paid a relative fortune for in restaurants. I'm not advocating total abandon here, but I just wanted to share this with others who may be considering Southern China. There was a warning broadcast re Dengue Fever when I returned to HK for my flight home, but I didnt see anyone, Gwailo or otherwise, who looked even remotely ill during my stay in China.
