jigger
The DSL line I'm using puts a nice hiss on the line thats makes it nearly useless to talk on. In the rest of the world, when you get a DSL they give you a filter for that problem. I cruised all of Pantip Plaza, and got nothing but blank looks.... Anyone know where to get one? LangsuanMan
I got one filter when W & W installed my ADSL line from Telecom Asia and Asianet but that only covered one phone that I have near the computer. That meant that the rest of the phone lines had the hiss you are talking about. I went to Panthip and was able to get an additional filter for 400 THB. Sorry but I threw out the receipt so I can't tell you which store I got it from. You just have to look for the stores that obviously sell LAN, routers, and other types of add ons. You need to ask for a micro filter. It was easy for me since I had one to show and eventually I found a store that knew what I wanted. They didn't have it but sent out to another store to get it. Really am sorry that I can't remember exactly where the place is to help you, but at least you now know that they are available at Panthip, it is just a matter of trying all the accessory shops. Forget the big stores like Data It or the one on the top floor.
Jdietz
Normally you would have a splitter with built-in LPF (low-pass filter), installed at the head of the phoneline, one wire leading to the ADSL modem and the other wire connecting all of your phones (behind the one filter). YMMV
