If you don't like the courts rulings - just do away with the court.

Republican presidential candidate Jindal is all for this.

Jindal, born a Hindu, has conveniently converted to Roman Catholic.

Gotta get those hard core Christain votes.

"Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) condemned the Supreme Court on Friday following its ruling legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide.

“The Supreme Court is completely out of control, making laws on their own, and has become a public opinion poll instead of a judicial body,†the 2016 contender said in a statement.

“If we want to save some money, let’s just get rid of the court,†Jindal added."

He converted long ago. It's not something he did just to enter politics. Doesn't hurt him, but if he'd been after votes he'd have been better to go Protestant. There are a lot more of them as voters.

But in a way, he's right about the Supremes. The problem is that whoever is in the White House at a time a vacancy comes up will appoint a justice sympathetic to his views. The Republicans appoint conservatives and the Democrats appoint liberals. The court hasn't been a neutral body in many years. Both parties try to pack the court with their people. I don't think the Founding Fathers ever imagined anything like that happening when they created the Separation of Powers.

Supreme Court.

I politely disagree.

I think that this is exactly what the founding fathers sought.

They knew that the legislative branch and the executive branch could potentially be composed of elected fruitcakes.

That the Supreme Court was appointed for life - and not elected.

The Supreme Court has made some really bad decisions over the centuries - but has always seemed to correct itself.

The Dred Scott decision comes to mind as one of the bad ones.

Franklin Roosevelt was the only president that attempted to rig the Supreme Court. His New Deal programs were being voted down by the Supreme Court. Roosevelt attempted to add 3 more members to the Supreme Court - make it 12 members. That failed.

In the early days of the Republic there were serious disagreements as to which direction the country was going. The system prevailed as set forth by the founding fathers.

<< The U.S. Constitution brought together, in one remarkable document, ideas from many people and several existing documents, including the Articles of Confederation and Declaration of Independence. Those who made significant intellectual contributions to the Constitution are called the "Founding Fathers" of our country.

Many of the United States Founding Fathers were at the Constitutional Convention, where the Constitution was hammered out and ratified. George Washington, for example, presided over the Convention. James Madison, also present, wrote the document that formed the model for the Constitution.

Other U.S. Founding Fathers were not there, but made significant contributions in other ways. Thomas Jefferson, who wrote the Declaration of Independence, was serving as ambassador to France at the time of the Convention. He kept abreast of the proceedings in Philadelphia by carrying on correspondence with James Madison. John Adams, as ambassador to Great Britain, wrote "Defense of the Constitution of the Government of the United States of America." Thomas Paine wrote the influential pamphlet "Common Sense," which immeasurably influenced the philosophy reflected in the Declaration of Independence. One of the U.S. Founding Fathers, Patrick Henry, was initially opposed to the very idea of the Constitution! He wanted to keep the Articles of Confederation, the predecessor to the Constitution. However, when an agreement was made to add a "bill of rights" to the Constitution, Henry fought hard for its ratification. >>

Man Poses As Armored Truck Driver, Steals $75K From Bristow Walmart

BRISTOW, Oklahoma - Federal authorities are investigating a Fourth of July heist after police say a man with a gun and bulletproof vest claimed to be an armored truck driver and conned Bristow Walmart employees of nearly six figures.

Police tell News On 6 that the man convinced store employees he was there for the cash pick up for Loomis Armored on Saturday afternoon. The employees said they didn't realized the error until the real Loomis truck came to make the scheduled pick up about 30 minutes later, police said.

The man was able to get away with more than $75,000 in cash, according to investigators.

He was driving a newer-model Chevrolet Malibu that was all black, including the wheels. The turnpike authority has been notified in an effort to track the vehicle.

Federal authorities have moved in on the investigation due to the size of the theft, police said. They are looking at the possibility that the man is a former Loomis or Walmart employee.

San Francisco status as 'sanctuary' criticized after slaying

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The killing of a woman at a sightseeing pier has brought criticism down on this liberal city because the Mexican man under arrest was in the U.S. illegally, had been deported five times and was out on the streets after San Francisco officials disregarded a request from immigration authorities to keep him locked up.

San Francisco is one of dozens of cities and counties across the country that do not fully cooperate with federal immigration authorities. The city goes so far as to promote itself as a "sanctuary" for people in the country illegally.

In a jailhouse interview with a TV station, Francisco Sanchez, the 45-year-old repeat drug offender arrested in the shooting Wednesday of Kathryn Steinle, appeared to confirm that he came to the city because of its status as a sanctuary.

Prosecutors on Monday charged Sanchez with murder as San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi strongly defended his office's release of Sanchez and pointed the finger back at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

He said the federal agency should have issued an arrest warrant for Sanchez.

"ICE knew that he had been deported five times," Mirkarimi said. "You would have thought he met a threshold that he required a court order or a warrant. They did not do that."

The case has prompted a flurry of criticism from ICE officials, politicians and commenters on social media, all of whom portrayed the slaying as a preventable tragedy.

"Most of the blame should fall squarely on the shoulders of the San Francisco sheriff, because his department had custody of him and made the choice to let him go without notifying ICE," said Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Washington-based Center for Immigration Studies, which wants tougher immigration enforcement.

Rep. Bob Goodlatte, the Virginia Republican who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, blamed sanctuary practices and the Obama administration, saying: "The tragic murder of Kate Steinle once again underscores the need to end these reckless policies."

Mayor Ed Lee issued a statement saying city policy was never intended to protect "repeat, serious and violent felons." He asked for federal and local agencies to review what happened.
