I had a look at Hive and it's pernickety, you have to copy and paste each file individually to move and organise them. Since I'm thinking of storing clones of my HDDs, I think I'll forget the cloud as a back up solution. One HDD backup on site and one, off site will have to be the answer. The cloud seems suitable for document management and more feckless uses, like sharing photos of my breakfast.

Hellodio, those who may know, could help me please. I am considering making the move to the cloud. I've been a steadfast, back 'em up to a hard drive, kind a guy up until now. Which strategy, has curiously, failed twice over the years. First time was when the USB controllers in the all the external hard drives I was using, failed catastrophically, on account of them being cheap drives and the controller software being written by a Chinese guy with a fag hanging out of his mouth in the backroom of a duck slaughterhouse south east of Kunming. Second time, was when the thieving scum who don't subscribe to the Gloriousness of the People's Republic, came round and stole all my external drives on Xmas day a couple of years ago. So I don't need to be convinced of the benefits of the Cloud. What I'd like to ask, is what do people think of the 'Hive'. Specifically are they reputable and will they be around for long? KOH PHANGAN – The Royal Thai Navy has controversially refused to let a ferry full of backpackers, island party-goers, and other low-budget tourists land on Thai soil, citing national security reasons and issues of Thai sovereignty. The Phangan Prince, a diesel-powered 150-seat wooden boat operated by the Full Moon Island Tour company, departed from Bophut pier on Koh Samui at 8:30am Thursday, but was intercepted on route to its destination at Haad Rin beach by a Thai naval destroyer. The naval ship hailed the ferry captain and ordered it to turn around. However, once it re-approached Bophut pier another smaller navy gunboat blocked its path and fired warning shots across the ferry’s bow, startling the approximately 320 foreigners aboard. “We were already totally confused by the fact that we never landed at Phangan,†explained Terry Woodson, a 23-year old “visual artist†from Manchester. “Then when we were coming back to Samui, suddenly there was gunfire and explosions. I dropped my Kleen Kanteen water bottle and it rolled into an open hatch. I have no water now.†The ferry was then escorted by the naval gunship to open waters in the Andaman Sea, where it remains. The International Red Cross visited the ship on Sunday, and reported back that those aboard “smelled worse than usual,†and that they were in danger of reaching “dangerous levels of insufferability†if they were not permitted to loiter on a beach within the next 48 hours. It advises that, owing to the political climate, creating April Fools’ Day news items might “cause misunderstanding†and that the ministry would initiate action against Thai websites posting fake news items. Fake items posted in past years are to have a clear disclaimer added. Interestingly, later in the letter, it mentions that April Fools’ Day is not a Thai tradition, but a “foreign holiday. â€Due to the possible risks and legal costs related to this MOC notice, we have decided to forgo April Fools’ stories this year." Dear Santa's Maid, in the spirit of bonhomie, I resile from my usual intention of attempting a humorous or cynical approach to posting on this board, to address your post above. What you are saying, is that this Prayut, should be accorded absolute power, and that you believe him to be a benevolent leader. Most, including myself believe that, if a benevolent absolute leader/monarch/dictator could exist, that this would be a good thing. But world history teaches us, and Siam/Thailand is not exempt from world history, no matter how much Thainess exists, that if you give someone unfettered power, denuded from the 'niceties of checks and balances' as you put it, bad things will happen. Let me repeat this - bad things will happen. You might have a case to argue, if you could demonstrate that Prayut was a latter day saint, a Jesus, a Buddha, or some such, but the world has grown up, the vast masses have education, and deities in human form, are just not believed anymore. It may be that Prayut has good intentions, but if I (were I the voting public in Thailand) had any say, I'd want him on a leash, not necessarily a short one, but after the debacle that is the Thaksin Family's performance, a leash never the less.
