  1. Found it , the place is called El Gaucho . Have a look at their menue and you know what I was talking about . I think I paid 6000 something for a load of rubbish . They do not know how to prepare a decent meal . The f*''*'***g tragedy was that I love sort of open air Thai restaurants like we later found one in Soi 11 on your left shortly before you hit a left hand subsoi leading to a nice Spa where madame wished to recover from the demanding dinner and so did I . Raintree Spa , offering double rooms with a sliding door in the middle , a pure masterpiece of thoughtful architecture . I insisted on an oil massage in that case , I shall stop here . Anyway a clear step upwards in comparison to El Gaucho . Though no condoms on the premises , space for improvement . Can't have everything is what I learned in the Kingdom .

  2. Gentlemen ,

whenever travelling into the center of the big city I take lunch at a restaurant which is in the middle of Soi7/1 on your left . I feel unable to explain what I like about the place , one feature probably the daily printed German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung which they have on offer . My favorite table is the single seater at the front of the establishment which offers a tremendous view on gems like the Eden Club and a food vendor an the opposite side where an endless stream of beauties buys lunch in plastic bags . I consider Soi 7 / 1 as an institution offering the ladies of the night a final opportunity to make money no matter what they look or what their weight has become like .

Sometimes I buy the service ladies a lottery ticket , I am a most welcome customer there I am sure . On arrival last month I noted that under the table various pieces of squeezed food were to been and I politely asked one of my lottery ladies if this could please be cleaned but the answer was a recommendation to sit elsewhere . So I thought WTF and left . I remember a recent piece where Stickman complained about generally degenerating attitude of service staff all over the place . So far unknown to me . Which leads us to the next event :

First I have to admit that my principally eternal affair with Lovely Nok suffered from a tecnical knockout late October when at the occasion of High Tea in the Four Seasons I had the idea to go through the facebook app on her smartphone . Heart broken . On the other hand I had enough anyway I remeber .

So I was walking up Sukhumvit in December when I noted a lovely lass in front of me and I analysed from behaviour and tasteful outfit that I was obviously following a chrystal clear office lady , educated and possibly virgin . I do not wish to paralyse this fine board by lengthy explanation but finally boardmember Bubi and the virgin were having a drink within the excellent Beergarden which was what madame was heading for . Owner of a mushroom cultivation near a place called Kalasin , heaven knows here that is . The cultivation currently suffers from a serious virus which as a last chance to survive made madame try to find some cash to shelter the family from immediate starvation and general disease . To support the project I suggested we meet the very next evening on the terrace of the Landmark at 18:00 sharp and we would have a drink and discuss further activities . The Kalasin mushroom farmers , for your knowing , do have a tendency to absorb major quantities of Australian red wine so be warned if money is an issue .

I am now finally heading for what I wanted to let you know : madame suggested a restaurant at the Suk end of Soi 19 which she thought was Italian but was indeed an Argentina beef supply . At most impressive prices and lousy quality . The place was in fact so bloody expensive that I now consider the Oriental as dead cheap to be frank . Go there and have a look if you don't believe it . The only geat thing was the unbelievably friendly and efficient service and they all spoke great English . I asked whereyoucomefromm and they said from the Philippines and one guy was from Pakistan . Could anybody here explain why a restaurant in the middle of Bangkok goes as far as employing staff from the Philippines for heaven´s sake ?

    Over to you

  3. Sorry, I am so sorry. I was sick for 2 days.

I'm still too weak to post now.

No excuse . Hundreds of boardmembers have already been at Spanky´s to verify the architecture of mademoiselle 25 . Your opening post did clearly confirm again that the German gentlemen are the true inventors of romance and passion . Which is why I surfaced at Beergarden 3 weeks ago . A hidden gem by the way is Nasirai (?) massage at the very end of soi 4 , room No 2 I recommend if available .

  4. Which does , Mr Mekong , only prove that visual inspection of related parts is usually less accurate than any physical impression .

On a sidenote . Would a detailed report about a " longtime " - romance ( 6000 Thai Baht ) with a freelance hooker with good heart whom I picked up at Beergarden soi 7 destroy my reputation on this fine board which I decided to rejoin after a 12 months sabbathical ?

If so I could alternatively offer another romance ( longtime 4000 Thai Baht ) with a GoodThaiGirl working in an extremely serious Thai massage/spa at Silom Road leading quality tourist BuBi into an " Isaan Dancing " due to her "sister´s " birthday . Isaan dancings since then I do not recommend , reasons being noise level and general confusion . Mademoiselle´s brother in law , by the way , works in a gay show near Patpong , has two children , married and spends most of his paid time with Chinese women though . A muscly dude of excellent behaviour I must admit . Chase women and you learn a lot is what I am saying .

Aforementioned events as per 2nd week December 2014 , for the record .

There is more to it .

  5. Very well . I may take the opportunity to recall what happened over the last couple of days/weeks . Not that it matters a lot but looking back at such a long time on a fine board I may as well spend the time . Other than Mr Waerth whining for love this is my last post here anyway .

I joined the " protest " discussion here sort of coincidentially but felt in position to defend my point that leaving the course of law leads into anarchy , I try to make it simple . I know that the protesters have good reasons to raise their point and I further know that the Shinawatras are not what mankind is praying for to come . Neither did I ever attack anybody here personally for his views nor ever praise the Redshirts or their masters being the light of the world . What I earned were accusations of Mr Waerth owing him money which made me boiling with anger looking at .... , consored . I did further receive lessons from Mr Wearth as well as Mr BelgianBoy about lack of experience in Thai matters which I did never claim to have anyway . If you care to look 2 posts upwards you find Mr waerth accusing me of supporting a murderous regime , what a fuck again . Where he might have got that from . What it only shows is the unability of people to handle a political discussion without interpreting the opponents´ view as hostile anyway . I am not even an opponent , I just try to make it clear that leaving the agreed path of proceedings shall not improve anything . I gave up following what Yingluck and Suthep and the army think , it is alltogether a hopeless desaster based on interpretation of the law and the constitution as they just need it . A Thai desaster , not mine . Now the redshirts (?) start throwing explosives on the protesters because they feel cheated , I am not sure if they need orders from Dubai to get angry . Nuff said , up to them .

When the last uproars happened 2008 and 2010 I arrived in BKK coming back from China , I did not come here for purpose . When I spent maybe a week at the river I read about local unrest in the papers and had to ask what was going on . You just do not notice anything there , possibly an advanced way to develop political ignorance but that is how it is .

Which was what I wanted to say . Final statement , kind of .

BBoy you seem to have lost your relatives´ sense for smelling a good sarcasm which would be a real loss , maybe you work on that .

  6. I did participate in the last couple of unrests insofar as I spent several weeks in BKK and did not notice anything , this time there is bad smell . Maybe I stay at home looking at possible events in early Feb . The Thais are obviously giving up the idea of running a society with a minimum of rules that keep controversary views under control .

  7. Exactly 2 weeks from this moment I will be having my pre-flight champagne in TG Biz Class flight from Madrid

Mekong I do tecnically understand your pride in flying Biz but you should realise there are individuals around who would rather take a sidestep to Paris just because F is all they would accept . Really well paid expats maybe .

  8. Sir ,

to keep a pool clean and healthy is to keep the water in kind of a balance . To put a ton of chlorine into the water does not help . A pool with a potential of x-many users of 200 appartments needs DAILY cleaning and inspection . If the water looks like fog it is already on the bad side and I would not put one of my precious feet into it , God beware more precious parts . If there is a shop anywhere near that sells pool equipment you should be able to buy a water testing unit that costs no more than 20 USD max. A piece of paper tells you right away what is wrong .

Using a salt based system for cleaning the water means a totally different tecnical setup and it would not be useful in a high frequency pool .

PS : I do never use public pools anywhere except a certain one by the Chao Praya River because I see them working on it for hours every night .

    Respectfully

  9. clubsiam ,

I share your opinion to attack these fraudsters whereever possible . To put some fuel on your fire I thought I take some shots of the shops where they send you and post them here , kind of investigative journalism .

Therefore 4 weeks ago I unpacked my digital camera which I must have bought 2 years ago , read the first 2 pages of the 4000 pages instruction booklet and thought I would become a famous Bangkok warrior in no time .

Result : I went to Erawan shrine in total 3 times , could even identify some of the fellows in your opening post but NOBODY DID SPEAK ONE WORD TO ME !!!!

My last desperate visit was this very Sunday , I held a Bangkok map in front of me , camera round my neck and stood there waiting for fraud . Nothing happened although finally I recognised the guy on the second photo in your first post who leaned against the signpost where they explain Erawan shrine . I read the story 9 times up and down , spent an additional 15 minutes watching a Thai group dancing inside til I had enough . I could not ask the man if he knew where a gem shop was , could I ?

Riding back home on the BTS the idea crossed my mind that they possibly all thougt I am an English-teacher and needed no diamonds or what do you think ? After all, what do English-teachers look like ? I only know this Stickman .

  10. The resident gem scammer Shangri La - Oriental area is definitely a policeman . He sends people into a Chinese shop Surawongse Road ; proven by the fact that the local TukTuks then charge 20 Baht only and refrain from recommending anything cheap . They cooperate .

I am fairly sure that the Thais do not even have bad feelings about what they are doing , it is just something that is good for them and they don't want disturbance. Like the whole country is ticking . If as resident you worry about this on daily basis you might get stomach cancer , it is their country so WTF . I am strictly following wht the Thais want me to do : consume what you like , pay and go home ; see you soon .

  11. Good post Clubsiam , and if somebody here thinks successful scamming is due the victim's greed I still do not see anything that makes the conman innocent . I promise for my next trip after Jan 12th I put my Minolta round my neck and you will see me walking slowly past Erawan Shrine with a Bangkok streetmap upside down til somebody comes along .I will follow his advice and take a photo of the shop he works for , my Christmas gift to the board . If I have a look at those types on your pictures I ask myself how anybody can follow an advice of such an arsehole , they already look like criminals .

Apart from that problem : Siam has over the last 3 years got an image that is somewhere between a Latin American banana republic and a sex dump with nice beaches . The reality is still somewhat different but it might have an impact on their tourist entries already . Still I find it great out there and I would seriously miss the touts offering Nai Ladeee , happy hour .

Looking at tourist hot spots there are conmen everywhere ; fraudulent taxidrivers in China , timeshare sellers in Portugal and so forth . But the nonstop " helpful person " -entertainment you receive in Siam should be world record as it virtually stops nowhere . I really think it's part of their mentality ; again : I still like it there . Nok is different by the way.
