  1. Loving Vincent [2017] An unusual film where everything is hand painted in Van Gogh's style, the story revolves around understanding the artists death but the visuals can overpower at times. Worth seeing nevertheless although the pre Blue-Ray torrent release I had of it was heavily cropped for some reason despite being 10/10 audio/visual quality.
  2. A Japanese couple is arguing about how to perform highly erotic sex. Husband: "Sukitaki. Mojitaka!" Wife replies: "Kowanini! Mowi janakpa!" Husband says angrily: "Toka a anji rodi roumiyakoo!" Wife, on her knees, literally begging: "MimiNakoundinda tinkouji!" Husband shouts angrily: "Na miaou kina Timkouji!" I can’t believe you just sat there trying to read this! You don’t know any Japanese! And you don’t even know if the quotes in the joke are in Japanese . You'll read anything as long as it’s about sex....
  3. Good Time [2017] Edgy and raw feel to this bank heist film that takes one brother on a wild night of mishaps trying to save his accomplice brother who has learning issues from another stretch inside.
  4. Mudbound [2017] Well acted Netflix melodrama of two 2nd world war veterans who return home to racist rural Mississippi and find it hard readjusting.
  5. Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets [2017] Visually impressive 28th century sci fi with a look of Avatar about it, starts off well and has some memorable scenes but overall lacks any substance as one might expect based on a comic book.
  6. Victoria & Abdul [2017] Light hearted family entertainment with stereotypical characters about the monarchs final years and her friendship with a visiting Indian clerk based on his memoirs recovered in 2010 almost 100 years after his passing.
  7. City of Ghosts [2017] Grim well made documentary of a group of Syrian social media bloggers risking their lives during time of ISIS rule in their home of Raqqa through their escape to Germany.
  8. My Scientology Movie [2016] A Louis Theroux movie doc on the bizarre cult but from an outsiders point as no existing members allow to be interviewed, so actors are employed to stand in for them. Entertains and worries!
  9. Sorcerer [1977] Recently re-released gripping action yarn worth watching based on the earlier 1953 The Wages Of Fear sees four dodgy strangers tasked with transporting an unstable explosives cargo across the Nicaraguan jungle to plug an oil well blow out. The rope bridge crossing is classic and the movie infamous as being mostly ignored at original release since it came out the same time as first Stars Wars.
  10. An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power [2017] Eleven years after An Inconvenient Truth, Gore gets all hot under the collar again in a thought provoking film that seems to conveniently stretch the truth to get the point across.
  11. A guy walked into his boss's office & handed him a pear. "What's this for?" he said. "A pay rise, my wife told me to grow it and then ask you"
  12. Woman goes to a doctor for advice losing weight. The Doc says "Don't eat anything fatty". "what pies, chips that kind of thing?". "No, don't eat anything ..... Fatty".
  13. Brawl In Cell 99 [2017] Skull crushingly entertaining hard core prison drama with an ott plot that is somewhat carried by a good lead performance.
  14. War For The Planet Of The Apes [2017] Good special effects and third in latest trilogy. CGI talking apes riding horseback might seem childish, but there is a grown up message amongst it all somewhere.
