  1. Marvellous [2014] TV Movie http://www.imdb.com/...ref_=fn_al_tt_1 The life of Neil Baldwin, a man who has shrugged off his perceived limitations to live an incredible life. This film is excellent IMHO. Available in full on YouTube, but quality poor so I'd get the torrent.
  2. Decades can be either calender tens (80's, 90's etc) or any period of ten years (last decade 2005-2015). Kippers are off the menu. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decade
  3. Finally watched this last night based on Thai360 recommendation otherwise might have missed it! Thanks, really enjoyed this.
  4. My guess would be she was just doing a legitimate over the air update to latest os - not a root. Some devices allow this once or twice in their lifetime before being taken off the shelf. You can test if your phone is rooted with one of the free Google Play apps such as Root Checker - it doesn't root just lets you know if root is successful.
  5. Is Stickman morphing into Andrew Drummond? His weekly columns have been interesting of late.
  6. Titanium Backup (free version). I used it to back up my crapware apps before removing them. Without it (or similar such as NoBloat Free for rooted devices) there is no way to remove crap ware given by Samsung. It also removes the Google apps I never use such as Hangouts etc.If anything goes wrong - supposedly can restore the apps, but nothing went wrong and I'm happy to be rid of them. Of course you probably know warranty is voided when rooting though I heard rooted devices can be unrooted and returned to factory state- but my devices are more than a year old so I don't really care. I haven't updated ROM's beyond KitKat yet, but may try that later as its an added option for rooted devices. Samsung will never update the ROMs again as the devices are too old. One reason I rooted was one Samsung device battery usage went very poor after Samsung updated ROM to Kitkat from Jellybean over the air update and they offered no help afterwards saying it was normal. I am wary of changing ROMs (which rooting also allows) so I haven't done so as they often seem to mention something or other that doesn't work yet in the modded ROM. I agree, I wouldn't root straight out the box, but later when I get bored with the device and could eat the loss if I had bricked it. I found Youtube tutorials on rooting a help as well and gave me confidence to root.
  7. I finally rooted two of my Samsungs a few days ago. Sick of the bloat ware I never use and need to update regularly and crap battery life. Now after installing Titanium I got a couple of devices I like again and the battery life seems to have tripled. Definitely find an appropriate root guide for your model and get feedback that it works before starting. Whole root process took less than 10 minutes and devices / apps/ data as before rooting.
  8. Can anyone remember the name of the clothes shop chain that was very popular with tourists in early-mid 1980's. They had one branch opposite near Sukhumvit Soi 1 and another at the Bali Hai end of Pattaya Walking St amongst others? They specialized in T-shirts with beach scenes but had other stuff as well. All had the designers signature bottom right corner on the shirt. I think the guy who started it was either a Brit or American? It became so popular everyone copied the style and I guess he went out of business?
  9. Never heard of this phone, but a search says it only costs 2690THB! Cannot expect many smarts in a phone for that price.
  10. As I recall it was on Rachadaphisek Rd near where all the soapies are now? Used to be full of garden resuarants on stilts over watery swampland and Tum Nak Thai was the biggest. They moved out to BangNa Trat highway when the swamps on Rachadaphisek Rd got concreted over.
  11. It was the same restaurant that moved to Suk Soi 24 ( http://www.seafood.co.th/ ) - "If It Swims We Have It". I never went to the Soi24 outlet after going once to old place and getting the bill.
  12. On 29-March (last weeks blog) he wrote: With just a couple of weeks left in the country things have become hectic and it looks like the final column will now be April 12th.
  13. >I paid 970 baht for 5gb during a 30 day term. I don't know about True but DTAC offer similar services, when their datacap is reached at say 12GB the speed drops back from 3G speeds to just 384kbps, then if you exceed 15GB in a month the speed drops further to 2kbps (the latter not even mentioned on their site afaik). That said I think all services offer plans with no more than 384kbps completely unlimited (with the usual crap about 4G/3G speeds up front for a small amount of data to coax you in) these days with exception of CAT who currently have a 512kbps completely unlimited plan for 215THB / month. Cannot say these speeds are enough for me so I use land lines where possible. I have also found True to be the most unreliable on speeds for both fixed line and air and get better service from other providers if they are available in your area?
  14. Whats the name of True Internet service via satellite dish? Never heard of that, cannot find on their web site? I thought everyone used line (True Online), wifi or 3G data (True Move) these days as coverage is extensive?

  16. My post #77 is in error which may have misled sorry. My post states "refers to his "bad wife" on last weeks (22-Mar) edition" should actually say refers to his "bad wife" on last weeks (15-Mar) edition. Its in the column called "Home Is Home, Thailand Isn't" where he mentions her.
  17. Interesting how after all these years Sticks column eventually refers to his "bad wife" on last weeks (22-Mar) edition. Don't think he's ever mentioned her before in such a manner?
  18. Silly me, I assumed the o/p wanted to dine there otherwise he needs a rimming? How can he explain away the dining pleasure otherwise?
  19. I think if you click past the IE warning it works with Chrome and FF as well. I'll give it a try in about 70 days when my time is due.
  20. Yes, only list the good ones! All personal taste tho. Whiplash great acting, https://www.youtube....h?v=7d_jQycdQGo Flying Scotsman - true story.
  21. So the SIX procedures listed in your link don't clean it up? I had another virus (555) that needed about SIX different procedures to clean it. When I followed them it worked. Good luck.
