The "Righties" want to cut the annual deficit , cut the $17 trillion dollar debt, but good god - not the military. Cut all of those 47 percenters instead. As Eisenhower stated: watch out for the military industrial complex.

By Hannah Sparks Boston.com Staff November 28, 2014 4:56 PM Jeffrey Moreno, 28, of Revere, allegedly fired three shots into the air during a dispute with two people who had parked near his home on Fenno Street to attend a neighborhood holiday party. Moreno apparently wasn’t in the holiday spirit. Just after 1 a.m., the two partygoers were getting into their car when Moreno, who “alit from his Cadillac Escalade,†reportedly confronted them, yelling at them in both English and Spanish to move their car, according to the Suffolk County DA. At that point Moreno allegedly returned to his car, retrieved a gun, and fired three shots into the air. After yelling at the victims one more time, Moreno then backed into his driveway and went inside his house.

“In November 1998, with House Republicans weighing whether to impeach President Clinton, ABC News asked Americans who they would rather have as a Thanksgiving dinner guest, Monica Lewinsky or Kenneth Starr. The narrow winner was the volunteered response "neither" (35 percent). Those respondents with a preference divided evenly (32 percent each) between the former presidential intern and the special prosecutor.†LINK

We received a memo from the state Board of Education. About 'sexual harassment'. In this long winded memo - it stated that if the teacher "looked" at the student and that "look" was "unsolicited" - then that is sexual harassment. For those who are teachers out there or who did teach at one time - this is absurd. You can't look at any student while teaching - as that student can charge you with sexual harassment. And the way some of these gals in public schools dressed - I don't know how their parents would purchase such clothing - and how they would let them go to school wearing such.

Samantha’s Story “Instead, Polanski drove her to his friend Jack Nicholson's Hollywood Hills home, gave her Champagne and a piece of Quaalude and, after learning that she was not on birth control, anally raped her, according to court records.†LINK

The gal was under age. Granted. But I recall the time of the charges. The incident was found out when the young gal was bragging to one of her girl friends about how she got him to shag her. The mother of the gal overheard the telephone conversation - then charges were brought. Even Samantha Gailey has her own version. History has changed the story a tad.

"In 1993, the New Hampshire Supreme Court interpreted Part II, Article 83 of the New Hampshire Constitution to guarantee students a right to a public education. In 1997, the New Hampshire school funding system was found unconstitutional and the legislature and governor were ordered to define the components of a constitutionally adequate education, cost them out and pay for them with taxes that were equal across the state." Dengue Fever? And I walked, crawled, climbed, through the jungles of Southeast Asia and visited Pattaya Thailand. Which is worse? The jungles of Southeast Asia or Pattaya Thailand? Should I worry about this also?

On another economic topic. My peers in Florida. Housing. Seems like there is a housing boom going on presently. Home prices have risen dramatically and some are selling for higher then asking price. So where is the bad economic news there?
-
I was against it before I was for it. Rabid flip flopper on this issue. I don't use it. I do have peers that use it. And I don't like to be around them when they do. Too goofy behavior. I'm against alcohol too. Too many lives close to ruin with this drug. But that battle has already been fought in the US of A. It's legal. It's taxed both federal and state. And with sales taxes - local in some places. I'm against tobacco too. But legal and taxed. I don't see news stories of cartels selling illegal alcohol or tobacco. Yes, some local bootleggers and some street sellers of cigarettes purchased from other states and sold on streets of states with higher state taxes. But few and far between. I'm against casino gambling. Here is an addiction that can wipe out one's financial reserves. I've seen casinos from Wisconsin to Louisiana to Arizona. So way not in every state. Take the tax money. So why not copy the Colorado model. License it, monitor it, and take the tax money.

The right wingnuts that listen to the likes of Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, and Fox News live in a slanted, biased, racist, fantasy world. Facts sometimes get in the way of their opinions. Last updated: November 3, 2014 By David Payne "Healthy third-quarter growth of 3.5% plus an upward revision of second-quarter growth confirm that economic momentum is back on track. In the fourth quarter and into 2015, growth should continue at a 3% rate. Consumer confidence has been gaining strongly. Hiring is on the rise, job openings are at a near record level, and layoffs are scarce (indicated by a very low rate of initial unemployment claims since May). Motor vehicle sales are still on an upward trend, though the really strong gains are probably over. Spending on consumer services, such as recreation, is likely to strengthen as incomes rise. Odds are health care spending will pick up as consumers and providers get used to the new rules. And spending on utilities will stabilize once energy prices stop falling. And there’s more potential for an upside surprise than a downside slide. As job growth returns and consumers feel more secure, more-robust income and spending increases may well be triggered, pushing growth over the 3% mark. Even if the momentum isn’t great enough for that to happen in 2015, it’s a good bet that it will be by 2016. At the same time, there’s a smaller risk that rising interest rates next year will have a mild depressive effect, knocking a half a percentage point or so off annual 2015 growth. If that did happen, growth would slip from the expected above-average pace of better than 3% to a simply average rate of 2.5%. For now, however, we expect that the likely increase of a half percentage point in rates won’t have much impact on GDP growth. The other downside risk -- a lengthy slowdown in Europe’s growth -- would hurt U.S. exports. But again, the impact on the broader economy would probably be minimal." Source: Kiplinger's

Tom Magliozzi, Popular Co-Host Of NPR's 'Car Talk,' Dies At 77 Tom Magliozzi's laugh boomed in NPR listeners' ears every week as he and his brother, Ray, bantered on Car Talk. Tom Magliozzi, one of public radio's most popular personalities, died on Mondayof complications from Alzheimer's disease. He was 77 years old. Tom and his brother, Ray, became famous as "Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers" on the weekly NPR show Car Talk. They bantered, told jokes, laughed and sometimes even gave pretty good advice to listeners who called in with their car troubles. If there was one thing that defined Tom Magliozzi, it was his laugh. It was loud, it was constant, it was infectious. ii Tom (right) and Ray grew up great friends despite a 12-year gap between them. Both graduated from MIT before going into the car repair business. Tom (right) and Ray grew up great friends despite a 12-year gap between them. Both graduated from MIT before going into the car repair business. "His laugh is the working definition of infectious laughter," says Doug Berman, the longtime producer of Car Talk. He remembers the first time he ever encountered Magliozzi. "Before I ever met him, I heard him, and it wasn't on the air," he recalls. Berman was the news director of WBUR at the time. "I'd just hear this laughter," he says. "And then there'd be more of it, and people would sort of gather around him. He was just kind of a magnet." The Magliozzi brothers grew up in a tough neighborhood of East Cambridge, Mass., in a close-knit Italian family. Tom was 12 years older, the beloved older brother to Ray. They liked to act like they were just a couple of regular guys who happened to be mechanics, but both of them graduated from MIT. After getting out of college, Tom Magliozzi went to work as an engineer. One day he had a kind of epiphany, he told graduates when he and Ray gave the 1999 commencement address at their alma mater. He was on his way to work when he had a near-fatal accident with a tractor-trailer. He pulled off the road and decided to do something different with his life. "I quit my job," he said. "I became a bum. I spent two years sitting in Harvard Square drinking coffee. I invented the concept of the do-it-yourself auto repair shop, and I met my lovely wife." Well, he wasn't exactly a bum; he worked as a consultant and college professor, eventually getting a doctoral degree in marketing. And Tom and Ray Magliozzi did open that do-it-yourself repair shop in the early '70s. They called it Hackers Haven. Later they opened a more traditional car repair shop called the Good News Garage. Got to just love college football. No show - just write one paper. Get an A. "Here’s the Awful 146-Word “Essay†That Earned an A- for a UNC Jock" “On the evening of December Rosa Parks decided that she was going to sit in the white people section on the bus in Montgomery, Alabama. During this time blacks had to give up there seats to whites when more whites got on the bus. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat. Her and the bus driver began to talk and the conversation went like this. “Let me have those front seats†said the driver. She didn’t get up and told the driver that she was tired of giving her seat to white people. “I’m going to have you arrested,†said the driver. “You may do that,†Rosa Parks responded. Two white policemen came in and Rosa Parks asked them “why do you all push us around?†The police officer replied and said “I don’t know, but the law is the law and you’re under arrest.†LINK

All US states have new car dealer associations. As any group, they have lobbied their respective legislatures for laws to be passed in their own interest. This is the way the system has been set up. Now, comes along Telsa - and they want to circumvent all of these laws. Ain't gonna happen. And besides, what idiot would purchase an expensive automobile at some shopping mall? With no service set up anywhere.

The town has been a major site for the Free State Project and radio advertisements mentioning Keene are heard regularly when listening to Antiwar Radio on LRN. You may or may not be familiar with Lenco Industries, a Pittsfield, MA-based company that manufactures heavily armored vehicles for government agencies. But even if you are familiar with both, you might not have imagined that the twain should ever meet.
