sf_knight
A good friend of mine is planning to be in Bangkok during July. She is an eager shopper and would like a nice place (at a decent price of course) where she can base herself for her shopping excursions. Since I only stay in the Sukhumvit area, I don't really have any suggestions for her. Can anyone make any recommendations? Thanks [ June 17, 2001: Message edited by: sf_knight ] [ June 17, 2001: Message edited by: sf_knight ] [ February 24, 2002: Message edited by: sf_knight ]
Pom Michael
Two that come in mind in the Sukhumvit area: 1.Windsor Suites Hotel. 8-10 Sukhumvit Soi 20 Sukhumvit Road Bangkok 10110 Thailand Tel: (662) 262-1234 Fax: (662) 262-1212 E-Mail:info@windsorsuiteshotel.com Windsor Suites 2.Zenith Sukhumvit Hotel. 29/117 Sukhumvit Soi 3, Bangkok, Thailand Tel: (662) 655-4980 Fax: (662) 655-4950 Booking site for Zenith Hotel Both hotels are fine for her purposes of being in the middle of the shopper area. Windsor Suites is probably nicer, and in a quieter area.
Guest
The Siam Sq. Novotel. There are more places to shop around there, MBK, World Trade Center and so on with in walking distance and then the skytrain is right there also. And the hotel is pretty nice and they do a good breakfast.

Guest
these both were nice, but to much money for me, any other suggestions please. William
Pom Michael
Bill, Why don't you give your price range - that will cut down on the number of places to recommend. Something like this: Area / Rate per night / any thing extra or required ? Cheers !
Guest
Ok I want to try to stay with in 24-27USD, I will be doing the tourist thing, and US Embassy the first day. thank you very much. Chok Dee
SiLeakHunt
I've always found the Asia Hotel, on PayaThai (I think) good at around 1500 baht a night (before negotiation). Very close to Siam Sq for MBK, Siam Centre etc shpping. It is used mainly by "regular" tourists rather than sleazy bastards like myself.. Guest
Thanks I went to site and looked up what I could. Looks very nice for the money. I need to get them to come off that price just a bit. thanks. Bill
ultras67
Try also the Belle Aire Princess in Soi 5. For a non sanuk person its fine ( they dont encourage guests, I was there 3 years ago and they wanted anything from 500B to 1000B guest fee a night ). A family style hotel with a pool and a nice restaurant, she will get pestered by the various touts though at the top of the Soi.
