Hi,

I unexpectedly are going to be in BKK for two nights, this Friday and Saturday.

Anyone know of any good Morlam concerts in or close to BKK those two nights?

I esepcially am a fan of Siriporn Amaipong (sp?), but others such as Jintara Pulaap would be great to see as well.

Hope to see you guys at Woodstock this Friday

KS,

Nah, my wife is from Nakhon Sawan.

Wow, I bet your wife would know at least one or two of my wife's co-workers. Almost all are from Nakhon Sawan city. The father of one of her co-workers is supposedly the kamnan of the area. Is your wife from the city or just the province in general?

My wife's sister lives in Hankha right next to Chainat which is only a stones throw from Nakhon Sawan. Their daughter is about half way through getting her B.A. in Education at some Uni. there.

Small freakin' world.

Many thanks to peter, Khun sanuk, his missus and Markle for the prompt responses.

I'll have to find someonenow who reads thai when I'm in BKK, but somehow I don't think that will be a problem. If I'm going to any concert I'm sure she'll want to come along!

see you Friday

It's not always that easy to find a girl who wants to go and see Jintara, either they don't like her or the concert is too far or maybe they don't trust you enough to go out to unknown places.Have had a couple get moody as I took more notice of Jintara than them!

If you cannot get to see her the next best singer in her style is Doakfah Phetpuphan who not only sings very much like Jintara but also looks a bit like her as well having her hair cut much the same. She sings mainstream morlam, none of this pop and not being able to tell what the style is, quite restrained performer though.

Just watching a VCD of hers now, the likeness to Jintara must be more than co incidental, maybe they both come from the same area, looks like her sister, another great singer-peter
