There is an accommodation section for this. Good hotel? certainly not unless your standards are very low, but not bad value for money and of course right in the middle of the pay for play area. I have stayed in 14 different suk hotels and apart from the miami the nana is the one I would least like to stay in again, but some love it and would stay no place else-peter

Miami is propably the worst place I've stayed ever, it's just disgusting. And my standards are not that high, I've been living in 300 baht bungalows and really enjoyed myself. I've booked Nana hotel for my next stay in Bangkok simply for the location, but I know it's far far more better place to stay than Miami. Never stayed there before though.

At this point i will hold my head in shame and admit that i stay in the Nana when i visit BKK,for my next trip in june i will be staying in the Nana again. I know that this hotel has had some bad write ups and it's not everybody's cup of tea but as thai3 said it is right in the middle of the pay for play area and as i only sleep there (with or without a "partner) I must admit that i have no problems with it, and if you get fed up with the go-go scene there is always the "smashing disco club" (as the hotel put's it!) to pick from - but then again if you get fed up with the go-go's wheu are you here?!.

I've stayed at Nana Hotel a number of times over the years when the location, lower Sukumvit, suited my purposes and stayed there as recently as two months ago, for the last time!

Pluses: The price is OK with a free drink and a buffet breakfast included. Deluxe rooms are spacious. It's close to the expressway to Don Muang airport and the skytrain. One minute walk to Nana Plaza. It's a good place to stay for a newbie into the go-go/bar scene on a limited budget.

The rant: With a couple of exceptions the reception staff absolutely suck. The same staff for many years, I often think that they get away with being so cold and often rude because they are part of an extended family related to the owners. Their job should be to provide courteous service which I am sure must be difficult to do on a continuous basis for years. There is callousness about them, like police officers who have to deal with drunken lowlifes and prostitutes, violent acts and general madness on a nightly basis (I wonder why?)

If you don't mind the cold reception you get from the immigration officers at the airport on arrival, whose job does not require courtesy, then you won't mind the reception at Nana.

There have been some recent renovations, fresh paint and the like, and a new swimming pool under construction but what they really need is some fresh young faces working reception. I will admit there appears to be no shortage of customers. I might poke my head in for a look in about ten years.

Never stayed there because IMO the place is a dump. I visit friends who stay there and when I do my skin breaks out in hives! The place just has a dingy seedy feel about it. The saving grace for the place is the restaurant which has decent food.

The price is right and the location is great if you don't want to travel far for P4P.

I would think that a man of your stature would prefer to stay at the Landmark or the JW Marriot which are around the corner from Nana. They may be considerably more than the Nana but they offer great value for luxury hotels.

I don't know about the price of the Landmark or Marriot. But i am guessing around $100.00 U.S.. The Nana is around $20.00 U.S.. This to me is not a fair comparison because in the hotel business you get what you pay for. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a Ford Escort. Yep, the Nana isn't the nicest of places to stay, but you do get a comftorable nights stay. Just depends on how low does one want to go. But I do agree 100% on the staff issue. They can be pretty rude, but when you talk to them as a person and not demand demand demand from them, then they can be pretty cool. I know it is their job, but a little tact goes a long way. But then again, If I could afford it, then I'd prob stay at one of the luxury hotels on the river. But for now, the Nana will do.
