Guest
Hi All. I was wondering if any board members purchased prescription medications in LOS, where a prescription is not needed, and brought it back to the US? The HMO that I am with in the US does not cover the medication that I need. Since I will be visiting LOS next week, I was wondering if it was possible to buy it in BKK and bring it back to the US without any problems. Thank you in advance for any further information on this topic.
New Petchburi Pete
You could buy the medications here in LOS, and ship them back to the States via "EMS" at Thai Post Office. Friends have done this successfully. Myself, I would not take the risk with any meds containing 'scheduled' narcotics ... say, something with codeine, etc. I do not profess to know the legal ramifications should a package be 'seized.' tomc12
Common problem with HMO's. As long as it is not a scheduled narcotic and you are not bringing back a ton of it, Customs shouldn't give you any problems about it.
