cactus
Can anyone tell me anything about making this trip. Suggest airline, train, bus, hotel? Just plan to go for 4 days, is it worth it?
Straycat
If for only four days I'd fly. Roads in Cambodia are generally in quite bad condition. Thai Airways go BKK-PP regularly. Is it worth it? Of course! It's always a good idea to broaden your views. Cambodia is distinctively different from Thailand. As for sanuk, don't ask. I don't know anything about it in Cambodia. uk101
Can't help with Sanuk in Cambodia either but just finished a great four day trip. Flew Bangkok Air to Phnom Penh, then took the regular boat to Siam Reap and flew Siam Reap back to BKK. It's a great time to visit Ankor Wat as almost no tourists at the moment. Just plan to go for 4 days, is it worth it? If you are only going to be away for 4 days - FLY! If you travel overland it will take you all day. It took me from 7am to 6pm to reach Siem Reap from my apartment. Its another approx 4 hours to PP. Hotels, depends on your budget but there are plenty of bargins around. Check the trip reports / regional sanuk sections.

uk101
Hi I can't remember the exact price but I didn't pay that much. There's plenty of seats at the moment so I would book in Bangkok
Ranger
Cactus, You should be able to get a fare around 8000B RT on Bangkok Air to Phnom Penh. The flights are rarely full, so you can wait until you get to BKK to buy the tickets. Ranger
Pescator
Hi ultras67 Well, you were lucky. I left 6 am in the morning and arrived at 10 pm. But then again the fare was only 100 bht. Hard to believe. Cheers Hua Nguu
gobbledonk
100 baht ? What was the donkey's name, and does that price include the carrot you had to dangle in front of it to get it to keep walking ? :neener: Jesus, when I think of the things that 100 baht won't buy, this blows my mind ....
