jacko
Well actually in Nakhonrachsima. Can anyone recommend a good hotel here where I can be joined by my GF. I think 2000 baht is more than enough for somwhere to sleep. Also how to get there. I will have had enough of planes by the time I am in Bangkok - so overland seemed a more relaxing idea? I wish she would just meet me in Pattaya!!!!!
Pom Michael
The Sima Thani in Korat (about 9 kms before the main city center) is the nicest hotel in the area. Rates are about THB 1,300 all in per night. Good value. Cheers!
Guest
Hi, You can also try the "Hermitage" Hotel. Very nice and about 900 Bhts/night. http://www.hermitagekorat.com/
changnoi
Air con bus from Mo Chit takes about 3 hours and costs ~139 baht. I stayed in the Sripatana hotel at 346 Suranaree road. A decent hotel for 500 baht.

jacko
This is a great board for getting a bit of help. My GF is talking of the 'Rachapruk' hotel - nobody mentioned that. The other options look fine. Taxi to Mo Chit, then get a bus shouldn't be difficult. I am an overloaded Samsonite type as opposed to a backpacker - so the skytrain is not an option. I hope I am going to enjoy this change, after years of mainly Bangkok and Pattaya (I have been to loads of other places in Thailand, when Adam was a lad!). But this is a first for Korat. Thanks for help.
Guest
I stayed at the Princess on the edge of the city. Really nice hotel. about 1200 baht...4 star. downside was that there really wasn't much to do within walking distance...and no tuk tuks or taxis to be seen around there. would recommend u stay someplace in the main part of the city. pattaya127
I think the best hotel in Chiang Mai is the Princess Hotel, or somthing like that. There was a cool place in town too, with a nice lobby with bar and piano, rooms around 12 or 1400 bahts. I can't recall the name, but i will try to find it.
