Burning/Hot foot sensation.

Recommended Posts

I have this burning or frequent hot feeling on the sole of my foot. Not hot to the touch, but I perceive it to be hot - and it definately feels like the skin rather than internal. Foot looks fine.

Feels OK when I wake up in the morning, develops during the day, quite disturbing when I retire - only the right foot is affected.

I have washed all my shoe insoles!

A doctor visit and blood test yielded blood sugar OK, Uric (sic) acid slightly high but not too bad (5.6), blood pressure same.

After a week of 'watch the salt and no red meat' I feel no different.

I am a 48 male non smoker and weight is not too bad.

:onfire:

Any ideas docs??

Hi,

More questions here.........

- 1 foot or both feet ?

- barefoot at home or not ? wht is underground you walk on ?

- socks ? cotton, wool or syntetic ?

- shoes, sandals ? leather or syntetic ?

- did you have allergy tests ?

- only at cold weather ? humidity ??

Having had many accidents and surgery at my feet, I know the importance of good care, so asks yourself in what condition / when you have that, maybe an answer is closer than you think......

Take care.

Cheers !

Well I appreciate any input, some of your questions were answered in the original post, but here I go.

One foot- right.

Barefoot? Rarely. I walk on synthetic soles.

Socks - yes, and cotton.

Training shoes, work shoes and sandals all used, synthetic soles.

No allergy test, the sensation has been with me for 3-4 months now.

Climate, I am mostly in hot climates, both humid and dry. Any clues- seems more noticable whan I sit at the computer, or lie down at night, in fact the sole of my foot is burning now, first thing in the morning.

Probably .. OK ,, really need to see a specialist. Podiatrist.

May be minor, but after this length of time something's amiss.

Burning sensations without apparent physical cause may be due to nerves being pressured. Bone spurs are a common cause. The additional pooling of blood in the foot when you sit or lay down may provide a clue to the specialist.

Best of luck.

Or you could just stop putting your foot in the fire. :neener:

And keep it out of my ice bucket.
