redwood13
Yes, the Peel Session LPs are known here in the US. I also see that the two brothers from the Undertones went on to form a part of That Petrol Emotion, a band I know. -redwood

Fiery Jack
Yeah, I've mey the great guvnor Mr. John Peelie on accasion, via my hapless days when "working" for the music biz. And a very fine upstanding genleman he was too. I once remember standing boozing with him at an Dundee College Unioun, whe suddenly daytine raido One crackled over the airawaves and it was Mike Reed (not the east enders one: the smarmy cunt thay looked like Cliff Richard) waffling about himself or some othet tosspot. I rmemeber Peelie looling wearingly me over his large pint of Stella and saying, "That Cunt Mike Read is quite possibly One Of The Most Obnoxious Men I have Ever in my life..." Good bloke , I thought.

limbo
I went to Reading as a punter as well, Slade played one day!! Interesting to see the old Reading thing that if they didn't leike a band they were bottled off the stage.

Ashman
Yes, John Peel was the greatest radio Dj ever, ever. I was a big fan of Half Man Half Biscuit who he promoted relentlessly. What a dude, listening to his show it felt like he was personally talking to you.
