kamui
Very strange story. Here the version from BBC News (with the picture of the murdered guy): Last Updated: Sunday, 12 October, 2003, 17:01 GMT 18:01 UK Thai 'gangland' killing inquiry A Welsh skydiver has been found shot dead in Thailand in what is thought to have been a gangland killing. The body of businessman Robert William Henry, 42, who was born in Cardiff but has also lived in London, was found in a canal 120 miles east of Bangkok. He had been shot six times in the back of the head and back. Thai police are investigating and it is believed that three Britons - including a former SAS man - have been banned from leaving the country during inquiries. Mr Henry's body was found in Tambon Na Jomtien just south of the beach resort of Pattaya. It is believed that he ran a company called Siam Air Sport and a bar called The Sky Bar and has not been seen since 4 October. Police have questioned Mr Henry's 26-year-old common-law wife, who is said to have told them that she believed he had been kidnapped. "There was apparently a row during which Henry hit his wife requiring her to have hospital treatment," said a Thai police spokesman. "She stayed the home of one of his associates, but when she tried to go back to her husband, he told her to wait and gave her four sleeping pills. "The following day the associate told her that her husband had been kidnapped by four or five men and that he was looking for cash to pay the ransom. "He said he and the other associate had to go to Cambodia in the meantime to renew their visas and she was urged not to contact police. "But when they left she came to see us - we had already found the body." A spokesman for the Foreign Office said: "We are aware of local press reports of the incident." ALHOLK
Hi! Ten years ago that was true for Sweden as well. At that time considerably more Swedes were going to the mediteranian area than to Thailand. regards ALHOLK
spirit_of_town_hall
I think the top destination for UK "tourists" to die is Thailand. Most UK nationals though is Spain I think. When they have settled somewhere not classed as tourists according to the embassy. STH
