Savittre
Hi Guys, Does anyone know for sure if Doxycycline is useful against Syphilis? To summarize- I tested positive last spring, underwent standard treatment (3 massive jabs, once weekly), went back after 6 months for a retest and was told I'm still positive. Then I was told to take Doxycycline (100 mg. caps) twice daily and come back for another retest. Does anyone know if this makes medical sense? Thanks for your time. I'm concerned about this: Syphilis is no joke. Cheers.
Straycat
Consult a medical professional -- not a public web board.
tomc12
I think this question was already answered. Doxycycline is an alternative treatment for syphilis-penicillin is the first choice.
Savittre
Thanks, Guys - If this question was already answered, I missed it, but did look. Sorry! - Second, yes, there's no substitute for consulting a medical professional. I'm remotely located, and quality medical professionals are in short supply, and expensive to boot. If I'm just being played here, I'd rather travel to an ISO certified hospital and get this business over with. - It is a problem, but what the hay, those girls were great! With the good comes the bad, I guess! Best of 2004 Cheers
