allatsea2000
Hey guys, just wondering wether u want to see around and about , do you go on an organised tour or do you just organise it yourself, eg, river kwai which is all day on a tour, or ayuathaya(i know probably spelt it wrong)for example, which is the best way
khunsanuk
Hi, You can very easily reach Ayutthaya by train (about 3hrs from Hualompong station, cost is a staggering 17 Baht ), and if you are early enough you could take the boat back, which I have unfortunately never been able to do. pattaya127
In Ayuthaya, you can rent a moped or a bicycle, no need for a guide or driver. Kanburi has quite afew sights, here and there, beside the bridge. There you may enquire at your hotel where to hire a some kind of taxi or samlor service. people are known to do these destinations in one day on a tour, but if you can give them 2 or days, they are both friendly cities. In Kanburi, The LP is right, APPLE GH has great food for a cheap traveler's hostel, thouhg the service is a bit on the slow side. In the "special sight" thread, I mentionned a favorite sight of mine in LOS, which is in Ayuthaya.

chilli13
autthaya only some 70km north of bkk, so by car/bus it's doable in an hour or so, but of course the train can be nice too, while the boat is bound to be the most scenic
allatsea2000
the boa sounds like a good way, at least one way maybe on the way back.
