Bird Flu: Do you still eat chicken?

No difference here.

Let's face it, if we gave up all the things that have had warnings issued about them over the years, we'd all starve to death or die of boredom. :cussing:

The list is virtually endless, every day someone gets paid to give us all something else to worry about

  • Cigarettes
  • Alcohol
  • Casual Sex
  • Drugs / Medicines
  • Stress at Work
  • Beef, chicken, eggs, pork, irradiated food.

It's impossible to keep up, so why bother trying... ?

( That said, I did manage to knock the cigarettes on the head last year, so I suppose I do listen occasionally. )

This was posted in another thread..just to help people understand the signifance of the reports and briefings pouring out of WHO and other specialist health organisations..Right now its a scare. It could become a nightmare scenario with hours/days.

This is one paragraph from a report a last week from the UK Health Protection Agency..

http://www.hpa.org.uk/cdr/

'WHO remains concerned, however, that the simultaneous occurrence of large and fatal outbreaks in birds in south east Asia may indicate that influenza A H5N1 is becoming established in birds in this part of the world. Widespread epidemics in birds increase opportunities for human exposure, which in turn increases the opportunities for the avian and human strains of influenza virus to exchange genetic material. If a new virus subtype emerges as a result, and if that virus proves capable of spreading easily and sustainably from person-to-person, the conditions for the start of an influenza pandemic would have been met.'

:help:
