chilli13
somewhere between everyday & twice montly sounds reasonable committed to me. my GF seems to NOT pay much attention to any local temples, but visits the more well known ones quite often like wat phra kaow, wat po, wat arun, chang erawan etc. well up to her
Straycat
Where exactly are those temples & their info to be found & do they even have some in skåne :: *AFAIK*, there are no theravada buddhist temples in the whole of Sweden. I'm fairly sure there are religious ceremonies held by Thai monks though -- but I think they're in private.
markle
ib13 said: On a related note I was wondering if it in LOS was 'normal' for 'good' buddhists to attend temple every weekend or how often? Depends on what you call a 'good' Buddhist. There isn't (wasn't) a tradition that was common with Christians or Moslems of attending a ceremony every day or week, one that was attended by the whole community (anybody who didn't turn up was therefore a 'bad' Christian). Still many people that go to the temple regularly and all 'wan pra' (Saints days) would claim to be 'good' Buddhists. This however is changing esp. in urban areas. My GF is one last time she went to make offerings to monks (2-3 years ago) she didn't have a clue of what to do.
