Zaad
Hi Blackie, I think the best and quickest way to find out is to PM the poster in question (KS in this case). No need to start a whole new thread for such a question IMO.

kamui
warez definition: /weirz/ A term used by software pirates use to describe a cracked game or application that is made available to the Internet, usually via FTP or telnet, often the pirate will make use of a site with lax security. By the way, before the introduction of file sharing software like kazaa most software was shared via warez sites. It was quite difficult to find pages with working software and to download it since large programs were split into 40 or 50 parts and often one part was missing or defect. ::

Guest
Re: Kazaa, 07:00 AM Jan. 09, 2004 PT "Forty-five percent of the executable files downloaded through Kazaa, the most popular file-sharing program, contain malicious code like viruses and Trojan horses, according to a new study. Out of 4,778 files downloaded in one month, Bruce Hughes, director of malicious-code research at security firm TruSecure, found that nearly half of them contained various types of nefarious code." kamui
The numbers are higly exaggerated IMHO, but I came a across this two or three times, but if you run a good anti virus software like Norton Antivirus 2004 it will scan every downloaded file and you will be secure. Running Spybot and Ad-Aware every few days might reduce the risks too.
buddha
Virus' are pretty easy to prevent provided you have the right software, it's just all those bullshit-bundled-pop-up generators that drive me crazy....but I mostly use a mac now. Nobody seems to care about the 3-5% of the computer world.
