bushpilot
Kloster as I remember was the very drinkable premium beer of thailand. I cant find a bottle to save my life at Patong beach. Carlsberg is a very worthy substitute but I hear Carlsberg will no longer distrubuted either. What kind of low down sculldugery is at work here I wonder?
Crash999
Had a bottle at Hard Rock a couple of weeks ago- it was sold to me by a 'Kloster girl' no less. Cheers!
Guest
Not sure about Kloster, but Carlsberg is certainly on the way out, something about not being able to agree a licence/contract with the Danish parent company. Heineken look to fill their boots as a result.
limbo
What's about the rumour that the Carlsberg promo budget was used by the brewery to promote Chang instead? Anybody heard of this?
samak
sure. there is a large conflict between carlsberg and it's thai joint venture partner the thai whiskey tycoon; this was covered in this forum some weeks ago.
MooNoi
Carlsberg is on the way out. Heineken has killed it in sales. Kloster is here to stay, but VERY hard to get in the South, in Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi etc. Shame... its my drink of choice in LOS. You can usually find it in the 7-11 fridge down south, however.
