Studying the figures I notice as follows : Business BKK/RANGOON/ BKK according travel agent costs about 220 USD return.On my bill I find it for 43 USD . Return BKK/Chiang Rai ( ) should cost around 160 , on the bill it shows 48 US. Rang agent and complained if that comes so cheap, then the long legs of the ticket would be dramatically overpriced. He said no, because sidetrips as final part of the main ticket would generally be charged like that. Meaning direct ticket Frankfurt / Chiang Rai via Bangkok cost same same as FRA/BKK. "Stopover " BKK as you like. Consequence : If you have any foreseeable travel plans, try early decision and put them all on one ticket. Could also be 25 trips to Phuket for example from BKK. cheers ps : expecting 65 megabyte post from UPS-er now, but this was all I can tell you about it.
