Straycat Posted March 26, 2004 Report Share Posted March 26, 2004 there are actually some rules for transliterations (issued by the Royal Institute http://www.royin.go.th/ - I think!?) however, it's an exercise in futility. sawasdee is rather strangely spelt in thai. all three transliterations you gave example of above can be said to correctly reflect the thai spelling. don't bother pondering over which one is the best! swtdee!
