Who is Buying the PEZ?

Sarisin

Recommended Posts

I would think the answer to the question in the subject line of this thread is 'me only.'

I mean I have nearly 400 different PEZ dispensers (if you don't know what PEZ is, check out www.pez.com) in my collection and another 100 for, um, daily use.

But, the funny thing is I have been here in Thailand more than 8 years and known many people. I have never heard of any of them buying a PEZ dispenser. I have made hundreds of trips to the grocery stores and never seen a single PEZ dispenser on the conveyer ready to be scanned or in someone's basket.

Yet, today as I purchased my complete set of Lion King PEZ dispensers at TOPS I noted they had quite a nice sized stock on-hand. Not only the Lion King series, but also Bob the Builder and Looney Tunes. If you go to the Central World Plaza ABC Children's store on the 2nd floor (I think) you will see a display with many, many different PEZ dispensers.

Who is buying these things besides me????

PS. I know some of you have seen me using my PEZ dispensers in the bars and noted the great fun I have with the BGs. In the Philippines during a recent trip I was telling the girls that they just received a Viagra from the cute little dispenser. The reactions ranged from immediately spitting the PEZ out to begging for more. :D

Oh how the mighty have fallen so hard...Sarisin and PEZ...somehow this is not how we predicted your outcome Sarisin...Saturday night at home in the condo and admiring the PEZ collection... :: :: ::

It's not all bad mate, just having a poke at you, and good to see you back to LOS for the extra money and not the sanuk :: Are you just on a year's contract or longer? Enjoy it and maybe revisit some old haunts that you liked, but not so good to haul around the PEZ collection with you initially... :)

Ahhh - well Sarasin, it's your own fault, but since you gave one to the DarLek, JingJoe is also addicted and they seem to be buying the stuff almost daily!

Sadly, her favourite character "Mr Bean" is no longer available, want to swap it? (And don't be rude now!)

hahaha, good to hear from you, my friend.

I have yet to stay home on a Friday or Saturday night. I just find myself dating more and skipping the bars. I had a nice doubleheader last night with a Thai girl I met on the internet and her friend. :) No drink-hustling, no barfines, no bullshit. Just the down and dirty stuff..

I will be working here until September, then we will see about next year. I have signed a lease on my apt. until Feb. of next year, so I suppose I am here until Feb. '05. If my job here goes away, there is always a cushy job in Baghdad awaiting me. ::

I have been out to the bars a few times since returning (mostly Wed. nights when guys from another site meet up), but it just isn't the same and I have not been taking many BGs home.

I am just glad the robbers who broke into my house were not into PEZ and left my collection untouched. :)

What is this Nervous Dog shit? Purely a rhetorical question so I don't need anyone telling me it is in a neatly coiled pile with a delicate bouquet. ::

Khun Sanuk, I demand, er, request you set his counter back to ZERO. If he insists on constantly changing his goofy name here, he should be banished to the land of the Newbie or Stranger or whatever it is when you have 1 post. ::

Anyway, sorry, but my Mr. Bean is my favorite dispenser and I only have two. One for the collection and one for those rare bar outings. I had such fun in the Philippines with Mr. Bean. The girls invariably guessed that the character was:

1. Pinocchio

2. Mr. Beam (of Jim Beam fame, I suppose)

3. James Bond (not you)

4. Sean Connerry (spelling is correct)

5. Me

I find some of the older series of PEZ occasionally at the Central World Plaza at the ABC Children's (ahem) store. They have a huge PEZ display with all sorts of goodies there.

See you Wednesday. This time wear a shirt that comes without all that disgusting sweat. ::
