Redbaron
Why don't they loose the accent after a while? Cos mine sits in from of the TV a LOT when I'm at work. Especially now it's getting colder. Coconut curries fattening? Shit, they're my favourite... time to try the "Coco Lite" - although she doesn't recommend them.
OCgringo
I wonder if the owners of "English" schools care what accent you have? When I was in Germany there was a German who worked at the US base, must have been around only New Yorkers and you would think he came from there from his accent. I would think teaching English with a heavy Scottish accent would also be interesting !
pe7e
Even the English don't understand the Scots, try watching Rab C Nesbit (comedy program) UK TV.

samak
a lot of Thais try to imitate american english they hear in movies or on TV. a lot of guttural sounds supported by moving the chin continuously in horizontal direction (like they do in Texas). if the Thai is not an advanced speaker in English, it often sounds horrible and is hardly understandable. i usually ask continue conversation in thai as this is better understandable for me.
