Khun_Kong
My Thai employer gives me somewhere between 4 and 6 "official business" days. These are to be used for visa runs, immigration bullshit, moving, licensing crap, etc. Not that it matters, but I thought that they only give it to farang employees. I promise to only use those "official business" days for when I really want to do business. Officially.

gobbledonk
Here in Oz, employees who need a 'business day off' simply 'chuck a sickie'. Granting 'Time-in-lieu' for overtime hours has cut down on some of this, but it remains a sovereign right in the minds of many Australians. I get very worried when I go to Asia and I see how hard the majority work (particularly in China) to get product out the door, then I come home and see people standing around outside businesses smoking. No, I dont give 110% every day, but there has to be a middle ground - we've become too fat and lazy, IMO.
