Guest lazyphil
English pubs--ahhhhhh, summer days, darting Bats replacing the mellow sound of Doves at dusk, warm beer, a game of cricket--leather on willow, shady English Oak trees, church bells ringing the hour, young lads fishing with bamboo cane and bent pins as hooks...and wallop, stumble over and vomit all over farmer Giles Range Rover parked in the car park ---Who needs snake infested Australia! MooNoi
Hi L.Phil. I did the "working holiday visa thing" as a lot of young Aussies and Brits do. Back when I was 25. Lived in Twickenham for 8 months, then Barnes for 5 months, both whilst working in Hammersmith. Then moved to Exeter for 3 months whilst stupidly chasing an Irish girl I thought I was in love with...Agree with you about the cottage in Devon - a very beautiful part of the world. (Didn't know about LOS then...sigh). What's the in-laws got to do with it? Actually, don't call them in-laws... that's far too scary! "GF's parents" will do just fine thanks!
