High price of fuel

Recommended Posts

Sure......Just because your goverment taxes the shit out of fuel , does that mean the the USA should do the same ?

NOPE

The USA is a big place , the 400 miles I will drive each way one the weekend gets me halfway across Europe,

and note even to the other end of California !

I have been to Europe dozens of times , probably driven 300,000 KMs in Europe,

the fuel cost really hurts !

Europe can do it their way , no problem

but there is no reason the USA has to follow that policy,

Oye Gringo,

You got me wrong.

No way you should increase your prices, we should decrease ours.

Point was why the hell should you complain when we here are paying way more ?

And why brag about figures as well ?

300.000 km in Europe is what truckdrivers do in 3 years..... :doah:

First you said:

"And indeed, instead of complaining, maybe they should have a look at less fuel consuming cars for starters."

Then you said:

"Point was why the hell should you complain when we here are paying way more "

WTF is your point? :dunno:

And then contribute, if you can.

I don't think anyone has posted the price for Thailand. I had to buy a couple of tanks for the rental a few weeks ago on our last trip, I think it was 17.9 baht or something per liter for 95 octane. That certainly makes it pretty cheap. I know it is subsidized to a certain extent.

Have no idea what the price is in China, they don't post them on the stations here.

(Was that better? I did avoid making any judgements about anyone)

I agree with you you guys in europe get robbed when buying fuel. I rented a car in Paris a while back and drove to Amsterdam. I almost went broke putting fuel in the dam thing. I have to say you guys have some of the best roads I have ever driven on. The French sure make you pay to use those to. So the moral of the story is americans should not complain because our friends across the pond are paying way more to travel by car.

Well the cost of the barrel of oil and the refining into gasoline- (benzine) is pretty much the same cost in the USA and Europe.

so our $2.25 a gallon gas also has about 60 cents of tax

Europeans pay about $3 or more in tax for the same gallon !

Believe me most people do not drive 8mpg pigs like mine , mine is a work truck ,

I would think the average MPG now is in the low 20mpg range.

still low by Euro standards but not that bad

PSS....my friend has a new Nissian pick-up truck V-6 motor ,

on a 1500 mile trip to Texas it only got 18mph highway, pretty bad for a new truck !

My 2 gas guzzlers are both European cars. You just can't resist getting in any little dig at the US and at Americans, can you?
