KhunJack
Just bought a new Laptop with DVD drive. What Software you guys using for watching DVD's? The DVD drive gives me 3 more chances to change the region code - is there a hack - software available which will allow me to watch DVD's even they have another region code as my DVD drive is set-up. Thanks a lot for your comments, recommendations. Jack

soongmak
You could take a look on the firmware page if there is a a possibility to flash your dvd drive. Do so at your own risk. A software option to bypass the region code is Dvd Region Free. It is no freeware however, and II have no idea if it works. Good luck!
short-time
Power DVD and WinDVD are two of the more popular players. As far as disabling that pesky region code ? maybe yes and maybe no. I did it several years ago on a Pioneer DVD player by updating the drives firmware with a hacked version. I can?t give you any websites to download these from at the moment, but you should be able to find them with a little searching, and yes - they are free. Unfortunately, not all drives have hacks available, especially the very latest models. Also, I believe most DVD software players also have region code restrictions, but fortunately, there are fixes for this nusance as well. KhunJack
Thanks all together ....the patching of the DELL DVD drive seems to be risky (in my LAptop it is a Samsung DVD-RW). The solution now ... "AnyDVD" and the region code isn't a problem anymore, fantastic!!! - as Player I'm using now PowerDVD. (Both downloaded from KaZaa).
