Pescator
Hi asdf, I`ve never heard maak being using for fruits, always bak. Neither has the missus as she is as lao as they get. Cheers Hua Nguu
asdf
More research: Mollerup's Isan phrasebook says "maak (or in some dialects bak)". Becker's Lao dictionary only gives maak. I think that Mollerup's based in Maha Sarakham, while Becker's from Yasothon.
Pescator
Hi asdf, You have supplied overwhelming evidence And I learnt something new today as did the missus (Sakon Nakhon) Seem to recall reading on this board that Bak is used in the northern dialect as well?
