thalenoi
If all goes well I will arive Bangkok 29 july and head home (Chumpon) but I need to be in Chiang Mai 6 aug. From here in farangland all I get on my screen is Thai airways at 4340 baht. Aren't there any cheap airlines out there and how to find them? elef
Hi thalenoi, web page is the site to find the airlines. BTW, why not ask for a price combined with your ordinary ticket. Sometimes it's free if you travel with Thai Airways but often reduced even if you use other airlines. elef

MooNoi
Hi Chumphon Man... Try here: Air Asia I just put in a few random dates, and most prices round-trip were in the range of 1500B. Much cheaper! Good luck. FlyP.

I know from Australia to Europe, in many cases there is a free side trip to any European destination flown by the airline. I know KLM was giving anything, including the longest ones - even Amsterdam-Athens or Madrid rt for free.
khunsanuk
Hi, "but I need to be in Chiang Mai 6 aug." Looks like we'll be there for the same reason One of my friends suggested 1-2-Go, one way for 999 Baht. The flight times are a bit better than those for AirAsia as well. Sanuk! Fatboy
Bangkok Airways also flies to Chiangmai with a short stop in Sukhothai.

Wow, we will have your company as wel! I know of a few other heavy sanukers who will be there also... And Air Asia at 500 baht one way is a treat. Thanks guys. Coming from Chumpon I don't care for flight timings. From the night train to the airport... I do have a medical verdict on july 6 which I hope will not interfere with my departure date, but possibly will....

khunsanuk
Hi, "I know of a few other heavy sanukers who will be there also..." Just from my group of friends here I think there will likely be around 12-15 people going up north. Yes, I think we'll have a good time Sanuk!
