frogpatrol
Good thread. My choices: 1. Caravan - timeless, pure genius, Thailand's answer to Dylan, CSNY, and the Dead 2. Carabao - can whip Thais into a frenzy like no other band 3. Pongsit Kumpee - majestic voice, some unforgettable hits 4. Jintara - love her, what more to say? 5. Sip Lor - A little Sothern rock Thai style 6. Su Su - brilliant mix of "songs for life" and "ma lam" 7. Modern Dog - pure energy and raw talent 8. Mai Charoenpura - sexy, sultry, and superb (until her luuk thung effort) 9. Palmy - she can wrap her tie-die all over me 10. Sua Thanapol - some great hits, fine guitarist That was fun. Thanks for the thread. froggo
bgtp
I like a lot of Thai music and I'd have to say my favorite Thai artist is Nakarin Kingsak (Pang). Also, some interesting artists on the same label, Giraffe Records.
Nervous_Dog
Bunderberg has a great climate, but not many thai restaurants or musc Its cooler than brissie in Summer, and warmer in winter! Not ad, but a bit borring, DOG
AF16
I find Thai music to be rather shallow and mainstream. It?s like the European song contest songs. I do find some songs to be rather nice though and have listened to a few Parn and Mai songs. I also like this song by Hugo, that he does a duet with Mai on one of Mai?s VCD?s. thai3
I suspect you have not listened to much lukrung, luktung or morlam so I would tend to agree. Mai did a double CD of Pumpuang hits this year, absolutely horrible, no feeling at all.-peter
AF16
Would that be the old style Thai music with vibrating voices?
