tilac
Hi, Bored of eating out every day, want to be able to make at least some fried eggs and spagetti etc ! So I am looking for a decent apartment near BTS (sukhumvit line). Am considering Grand President (sukhumvit soi 11), what is the best / cheapest way of booking the Topaz suite there ? Other accomodation tips welcome as well ! Thanks Tilac

I know VP tower also (nearby in Soi Rangnam, have stayed there before), the more expensive (too expensive for me) apartments have a kitchen too ! Sporty
Howdy, "Am considering Grand President (sukhumvit soi 11), what is the best / cheapest way of booking the Topaz suite there ?" Go there to the rental office, and ASK FOR BEST PRICE !!! I got nearly a 20% discount, on what is publisked on the WEB, for the one bedroom... I did say, I stayed herr before at a discount, I come offten stay a long time, and some other smoozing to get it.... Originally I got the discount, I called a guy at a affliated property, before the time above, so it was easy to ask for the same price, I got before, that guy I found on this board, and he gave me a discount, sorry, it was long ago, and do not remember the name, he was at the President Property on Soi 22, but discounted the Grand President for me.... I just now look at older posts, I could not find it, easily... Did not look long however to many President Posts. sporty

tilac
Ok, thanks guys ! I got a reply from GP reservation office, they quote me 28000 Baht / month for Topaz Suite. They wrote me this: v The above rates are inclusive of VAT & subject to 10% service charge v Rates are inclusive of water & electricity charges v Complimentary Cable TV v Complimentary daily maid cleaning services v Complimentary change of linen & towels 4 times a week v Complimentary membership at Fitness Center They also provide unlimited Hi-speed(ADSL) internet access in all guest rooms at an extra charge of Bht 220 per day/Bht 1,375 per week/ Bht 2,640 per month. Might be able to knock down price if i can get corporate rate. Or is there any other referral that can give me discount ? Regards Tilac

Kitchen corner with Microwave, hotplate, kitchenware, Hi-Fi, DVD, TV. Nice room and reasonable price. I have booked it through the Web. And if you are a bit thirsty, the new German Beerhouse is at the groundfloor.
Sporty
Hmmm, I do not think they are giving you any discount at all over the published internet rate, inculsive of the Service charge, at 30,000 per month. http://www.grandpresident.com/hotels/grandpresident/frame.asp?hotelid=9 Go from there to the monthly Rate Column header(Monthly Rates(Valid from : 01/01/2004 - 31/12/2005) and you get this: All rates are inclusive of 10% service charge. All rates are applicable for single and double occupancy. Hmmm, I am sure that includes daily maid service, as well? Facility FACT SHEET IN-ROOM FEATURES & SERVICES · 437 Studios and Suites (one, two and three-bedroom) · Daily cleaning of room · Maid and linen service · Electronic door lock · Personal electronic safe · Refrigerator, microwave oven and electric hot plates · Dining and kitchenware with cutlery and glassware · Cooking utensils on request · Laundry and dry cleaning service (same day delivery service) · IDD telephone with bathroom extension · Hi-speed Internet service · Complimentary cable TV channels (including CNN, BBC, ESPN, NHK-Japan, Zee TV ? India, in-house movies and other foreign language channels) · Video, stereo and CD players ALSO, includes, Hi-Speed Internet ? I think its best if your in BKK, to go there...
