Guest
<<<<and have it saw "need girlfriend" or a similar phrase.>>>> ow = want (informal) yak = want (more formal) (yak dai when wanting an object) tong (gan) = need fan = gf/bf tirak = sweetheart Tawn nee = now Phom - me/I "ow tirak" = "want sweetheart" "Phom ow fan" = "I want girlfriend". "phom ow tirak tawn nee" = "I want sweetheart now!" Many ways to say this. I'm a newbie to Thai language, so will leave it up to those, better educated than me. :: Also, "ha" (rising tone) means = to look for/search for. So...'phom ha tirak' = 'I'm looking/searching for girlfriend/sweetheart' HT >>>>Thanks in advance for the suggestions! Zaad
There are indeed many ways to put it. I personally wouldn't use "ow" in this case. I use that word for ordering a piece of meat at the local vendor Perhaps: "Phom yark mee faen" (I want to have a gf). You can add "khuen nie" (tonight) at the end if you want to make clear it's a gf for the night only
Guest
Now that I'm totally confused!@@##$$%^ I didn't see pooying in the list. Is that not a good work for GF? I would like to keep it down to a dozen letters as it needs to fit on a visor! Too old to learn Thai, good thing still have some baht!

Guest
I would probably say "haa faen khrap".
Zaad
SS, It's weird to use 'phooying' in this case. Better use the shortened version "ying" "yark mee ying" (need/want a woman) or as above "haa ying" (searching/looking for woman)
Pescator
hi ss, If you want it short and juicy: Haa SaoSao Yuu/haa Orh Orh yuu/haa gai yuu Or Hua Nguu that basically conveys the same meaning Yaak Dai Ying Borigaan You want female "service" These terms would probably be along the lines I could imagine would be used at a farang bachelor party. There are less than appropriate though, but I think you get that. Cheers Hua Nguu
Guest
Want to say girlfriend not just a woman so should it say haa pooying and are there any gramatical marks that should appear between the double vowels. I'm so use to be dealing aHawaiian with there ar tons of vowels in the 13 letter alphabet and the syllables end in a vowel and many double and a few tripple vowled words. Just to know streets and places you have to deal with this. Kaa'awa ( a town) humuhumunkunukuapa'a the state fish Will it be correct to say yark mee pooying (need) rather than just haa pooying (looking for) Again, thanks for the help.
