richs
This dinner cruise on the Chao Praya river is on a restored rice barge. Does anyone know the price?
jai-dee
Between THB 1,400 and THB 1,650, or USD 40. Source
samak
it has been said several times on this board, but here again: there are several cruises aimed at tourist market, which are quite pricey. sure the environment is nicer, but the food is sometimes crap. but if you just want to have a cruise and good, normal food, choose a river cruise, where usually also a lot of locals go. link has some of those cheaper cruises as well as a lot of restaurants along the Chao Phraya river Dinner Cruises and Restaurants along the river
torrenova
The one used by the Shangri-La is shit. The Manohra barge used by the Marriott Spa is quite a different affair.
richs
Thanks for your fast answers. I plan to stay at the BKK Marriott Resort & had read that my TG would especially enjoy a romantic dinner cruise on their Manohra barge.
whosyourdaddy
http://www.loynava.com/ Can highly recommend this one. Smaller than the other rice barges. Food was very good and there was a shit load left over. Paid 800B after the internet discount a few years back Over the weekend we went on the GRAND PEARL. one of those flash 3 story cruise boats. 1200B each. I preferred the rice barge!!! Guest lazyphil
Looks nice, I might take my parents on this when we come back to LOS in April. btw, on my first LOS trip, an organised 'adventure' (loose term!) type of trip I went on this rickety old rice barge towed by a little tug...I think from Nakon Sawan to Ayuteya?, lived/slept on it for 3 nights, really amazing time watching the scenery go by. Fantasic food cooked on board the tiny kitchen.
