think_too_mut
I've got the booking, before I secure it, has anyone stayed there? http://www.rayongresort.com/hotellocation.html Looks I can go to Koh Samet every day by the hotel boat, 20 mins ride. The rooms look a bit small (26sqm). (It's a family holiday, no interest in guest friendliness or nite life).
khunsanuk
Hi, Yes, stayed there about 6 years ago. Must admit that I was not impressed. We did not have our own transportation at the time and there was nothing to do in the area. Only 1 restaurant at the resort (if memory serves correctly), which was okay, but not that spectacular. Rooms weren't that great either. Our TV for instance did not have a remote, and the water in the shower went from cold to scalding hot almost instantly. Doubt I would go back there. Sanuk! think_too_mut
Were you staying in the main wing or in the bungalows? I'm trying to change from a regular room to 54sqm beach suite, at a charge. We will have our own car so the isolation is not a big deal. Did you use hotel boat to go to Koh Samui? 6 years is a long time. I'll get my Thai friend who recommended the place to ask if TVs are still with no remotes. Not that I care about TV, if they are still with no remotes the place has reached an advanced state of decay since you were there.
khunsanuk
Hi, "Were you staying in the main wing or in the bungalows?" Main wing, which was very quiet. I think there were not that many guests when we were there. "Did you use hotel boat to go to Koh Samui?" No, was not aware this was possible. We were there for only 2 nights. "Not that I care about TV, if they are still with no remotes the place has reached an advanced state of decay since you were there." Yep, that was pretty much my thoughts as well. Don't really care if there is a TV even, but it seemed sloppy and bad maintenance to have TV with a missing remote. Sanuk!
